This piece was for a local band and close friends of mine called Tectonics. They pitched an idea for me to design their artwork for an eponymous EP they would be releasing. They introduced a concept to me of neccesities in life, and wanted to visually display something along those lines. I began to draft some ideas and thoughts with mindmaps, artist research and sketches, and landed on the idea of oxygen being a bare neccesity. I was inspired by some recent works of Stanley Donwood who produced a range of paintings under the collectice title 'i love the modern world'. One piece featured an inhaler, coloured in a bold blue, with orange background, called 'oxygen should be a drug'. I took the colour style from this piece and implemented it into my own work in which i painted two squares. They represent two lungs in a chest, no effort in detail to help represent the concept of neccesities.
